Ferryside Lifeboat’s main boat is a 6.4m RIB – a Rigid Inflatable Boat
The Freemason was built by Ribcraft in 2012 and was refitted in 2018 to update its navigation and communications equipment and upgrade its engines to incorporate a PIRS system – which allows them to restart again in the event of a capsize.
Its twin 115hp Mariner four stroke engines give us a top speed of approximately 38 knots, and the ability to float in just 18 inches of water.
